Thank you to our very valued patients for being a part of the Foresight Optometry family! We look forward to seeing you for all of your eye care needs for years to come.

You may or may not have heard that we’ve had some changes recently in our office. Dr. Jeanette Hochstatter is pleased to announce that as of May 2016 she has turned her practice over to Dr. Joy Michelsen and Dr. John Michelsen.  Dr. Hochstatter has decided to take a step back from full-time patient care here at Foresight Optometry although she will continue to see patients on a part-time basis.

“I am so excited to have found two skilled doctors to take the helm here at Foresight Optometry! Both Dr. Joy and Dr. John value careful patient care as much as I do and I have great confidence in their skills and their kindness.”

-Dr. Hochstatter

“Just like Dr. Hochstatter, we pride ourselves in bringing the latest in technology to our patients. We are also bringing new services to Foresight Optometry such as treatment and management of glaucoma, online patient portal to access your health information, and expanding the scope of insurances accepted at at Foresight Optometry which will allow us to serve more of our community.”

-Dr. John Michelsen

Your eye health and eyewear needs will continue to be in great hands!

Drs. Joy and John Michelsen met while attending the University of California – Berkeley Optometry School and have been happily married since 2009. They both have volunteered in optometric missions to provide eye care services to those in need in locations such as Chile, Thailand, and Palau. Dr. Joy Michelsen and Dr. John Michelsen also own AccuVision EyeCare Optometry in Livermore, which is also a full scope, a 5-star rated, optometric practice.

Working part time at Simon Vision Institute allows Dr. Joy to stay up to date in technology in regards to refractive surgery options She also enjoys contact lens fittings, dry eye therapy, and helping patients choose the right frame for their glasses.

Dr. John completed a residency program in ocular pathology at the Fresno VA Hospital where he studied severe eye diseases, such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and more. Like Dr. Joy, he has the unique distinction of being licensed to treat glaucoma. Dr. John Michelsen has also served as a clinical instructor at UC Berkeley Optometry School and enjoys teaching.

As a couple, they enjoy camping, biking, indoor rock climbing, cooking and traveling with their daughter, Joni. They are excited to provide you with excellent eye care at Foresight Optometry. Dr. Joy and Dr. John look forward to meeting all of you, and Dr. Hochstatter will continue to see many of you during her time here.

Sincerely,

Dr. Jeanette Hochstatter, Dr. Joy Michelsen, Dr. John Michelsen, and the entire staff at Foresight Optometry.
